Portraits of Women
I love a beautiful female face, both for its inherent aesthetic value, and because it expresses (or perhaps attempts to conceal) a rich inner consciousness. As a visual artist, the first reason is the primary one: to capture a sublime moment of intensified and deepened beauty, to snatch that iconic moment out of the general flow of time and make of it an "image," a piece of art, an object of aesthetic contemplation, a permanent record of an epiphanic moment of revealed beauty.
